WebSphere Process Server 6.2: Dynamic Human Workflows – Introduction and Best Practices

White paper

Abstract

This document describes the Dynamic Human Workflow support, also known as support for Case Handling for Knowledge Workers that has been introduced with WebSphere Process Server Version 6.2.

If you are interested in Human-centric Business Process Management (BPM) scenarios that go beyond the execution of well-structured, pre-defined human workflows then you might be interested in this paper. Here we are concentrating on scenarios where exceptions make the rule. While not embodied in predefined process models these exceptions are supported by a runtime that is flexible enough to allow people who are empowered to do what they need to do, without compromising the integrity of the business scenario or the BPM infrastructure.

The target audience of this document are architects and solution specialists that create dynamic business process based applications for WebSphere Process Server.
