Abstract

Cumulative fix package for IBM C++ Runtime Environment Component for AIX.

Download Description

If you wish to run an application developed using the IBM XL C/C++ Enterprise Edition for AIX, V9 compiler (or earlier), but do not have the corresponding version of compiler or runtime already installed, then you need to install the Runtime Environment package.

The following APARs were fixed in the V8 Runtime PTF (for use on AIX 5.1 only) *:

IZ06691 - demangle() coredumps
IZ09400 - Error with bitset functions
IZ09401 - November 2007 XL C++ AIX Runtime, V8

The following APARs were fixed in the V9 Runtime PTF (for use on AIX 5.2 and above) *:

IZ04175 - dynamic_cast issue when using -qobjmodel=ibm
IZ07482 - V9 runtime core dump due to early destruction
IZ07483 - demangle() coredumps
IZ07484 - Bitset functions do not return proper value
IZ09358 - November 2007 PTF for XL C++ AIX Runtime, V9

* Some APARs may have been originally fixed in another release of this product. In such cases fixes have been ported to this release and APAR descriptions have been copied from the original APARs.

Prerequisites

Operating system:
- AIX 5.2 with bos.rte.libc.5.2.0.60 or higher
- AIX 5.3 with bos.rte.libc.5.3.0.3 or higher

Technical Support

The C++ Runtime Environment for AIX is not supported as a stand-alone software product.

Support for questions and problems relating to installation of the C++ Runtime Environment is available as part of AIX Software Maintenance (SWMA).

If you suspect a problem with the C++ Runtime Environment while using it with a third-party application, contact your application provider for support.

Full support (installation, defect support and general questions) for the C++ Runtime Environment is available with the software maintenance agreement for the XL C++ Compilers. A suitable test case is required for defect support; click here for details.
