IBM CL/SUPERSESSION and IBM CL/CONFERENCE z/OS Compatibility

Abstract

All maintenance levels of IBM CL/SUPERSESSION and IBM CL/CONFERENCE will operate with z/OS V1.2 through z/OS V1.3. Maintenance is required to Operate on z/OS V1.4, and upward.

z/OS V1.4 and above require toleration maintenance. QLU1110 or L182190+ is the minimum maintenance level that provides support through z/OS V1.8. Additionally z/OS V1.9 will require PTFs UA31303 and UA37852. z/OS 1.10 requires PTF UA45285.

You can verify that the necessary minimum maintenance is applied by browsing your TLVLOG for the string "KLUACTVT". To the right of that module name is its maintenance level. If that level is QLU1110, L182190 or L18yddd (where "yddd" is a Julian date later than 2190), then that IBM CL/SUPERSESSION or IBM CL/CONFERENCE address space will operate in a z/OS V1.4, V1.5, V1.6, or V1.8 environment. Also browse the TLVLOG for the string "KLV$STGF" and "KLV$STGG", the maintenance level should show OA16500 for both modules.

For all IBM CL/SUPERSESSION users, APAR OA23953, is a prerequisite for all the current maintenance and properly updates the maintenance eye-catcher (V147yyww) displayed at startup; it is recommended that you apply the PTF for this APAR. The Engine maintenance to support 4byte console IDs after z/OS V1.8 is APAR OA21938 (PTF UA37852).
