Abstract
The warning message "The application's digital signature has an error" is displayed when you use IBM WEBi Version 1.0.2 to view line data reports from the DB2 Content Manager OnDemand server.

When you are using IBM WEBi Version 1.0.2 to view line data reports from the DB2 Content Manager OnDemand server, the security warning message "The application's digital signature has an error" is displayed.

The following screen capture shows this security warning message:

This problem is caused by an expired digital security certificate that is shipped with the OnDemand Web Enablement Kit (ODWEK) Version 8.4.0.1 line data viewer applet.

The following screen capture shows an example of security certificate details with an expired date in the Validity field.

IBM WEBi Version 1.0.2 users must upgrade to IBM WEBi Version 1.0.3 to avoid this problem.

As a temporary workaround, IBM WEBi Version 1.0.2 users can perform the following steps:

  1. Stop the WebSphere Application Server application server where the IBM WEBi Version 1.0.2 application is running.
  2. Rename the existing ODLineDataViewer2.jar file. By default, this file is located in the following paths:
    • For Windows: c:\program files\ibm\ondemand web enablement kit\applets
    • For AIX: /usr/lpp/ars/www/applets
    • For Linux, HP-UX, and Solaris: /opt/ondemand/www/applets 
  3. Save the ODLineDataViewer2.jar file (attached in this technote) in the appropriate applets directory.
  4. Start the WebSphere Application Server application server where the IBM WEBi Version 1.0.2 application is running.
