OnDemand client might fail to start, MFCLOC and MFC80.DLL errors in the Event Log

Abstract
After upgrading the IBM® DB2® Content Manager OnDemand client to V8.4 or V8.4.1, the OnDemand Windows® Clients might fail to start. The following messages are shown in the Windows Event Log:

Generate Activation Context failed for C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.MFC_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.762_x-ww_3BF8FA05\MFC80.DLL. Reference error message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

Resolve Partial Assembly failed for Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC. Reference error message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC could not be found and Last Error was The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.
 
Content
The OnDemand Windows Clients installation includes specific Microsoft Windows MFC and CRT runtime libraries (DLLs). In order for these clients to run in a Microsoft Windows environment, Microsoft has updated several language dependent versions of these libraries for certain Windows locales.
Locales requiring these updated language specific resources for the V8.4 and V8.4.1 OnDemand Windows Clients are: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, German, some English locales, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, and Korean.

The OnDemand Windows Clients V8.4 and V8.4.1 files have been repackaged and reposted with these language dependent runtime libraries on our FTP site. See the Related information section to download the latest OnDemand client.
