Abstract
Install this fix to enable the password management feature for Red Hat 5.2
 
Download Description
This fix applies to all editions of IBM WebSphere® Remote Server version 6.2.1.0.

This fix resolves the problem of the password management feature not working on Red Hat 5.2. The line in the changePassword.sh script that invokes the chpasswd command has been modified to support Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

The fix also contains an update to the WebSphere Remote Server Development Environment which will correct the problem in solutions that you generate using the WebSphere Remote Server Development Environment.

 
 
Installation Instructions
The fix is specific to each edition of WebSphere Remote Server.   Be sure to download the fix for the edition that you have installed.
  • Starter Edition: 6.2.1-WS-WRSStarter-Linux-JR31211
  • Standard Edition: 6.2.1-WS-WRSStandard-JR31211
  • Advanced Edition: 6.2.1-WS-WRSAdvanced-Linux-JR31211
  • Central Site Server: 6.2.1-WS-WRSCss-Linux-JR31211

If you are unsure of which edition of WebSphere Remote Server you have installed, determine the edition using one of the following methods:
  • Check the edition name on the label of the DVDs containing the Systems Management Accelerators.
  • Check for one of the following files in the root directory of the Systems Management Accelerator DVD: STARTER, STANDARD, ADVANCED or CSS.
    If WebSphere Remote Server is installed, look in the directory where the base component is installed. The default location is:
      Linux:  /opt/IBM/SIF
      Windows: C:\Program Files\IBM\SIF

      In the tivoli subdirectory you will find the file that identifies the edition:
    • Starter Edition: WRSSTR0602.SYS2
    • Standard Edition: WRSSTD0602.SYS2
    • Advanced Edition: WRSADV0602.SYS2
    • Central Site Server: WRSCSS0602.SYS2
    Once you have determined the edition you are using, refer to the readme included in fix download for installation instructions.
