In Retail and Point of sale software and system documentation and publications, International Business Machines (IBM) is frequently used. Now that Toshiba has acquired the business, how does that impact me?
For the most part, business as usual!! You will still get the same personalized support from the same dedicated team that you've worked with in the past. One of the daunting tasks we have is to update our Knowledgebase, downloads and publications to reflect our new company name. Throughout our site, you will see references to IBM POS systems and software. For currently marketed products, we'll be updating the names and references. We'll mostly leave other content alone. Below is the cover letter that explains that all references to "IBM" equates to "TGCS". At some point in 2013, new systems will have a different logo but, inside, the retail tough design is created by the same people who brought you IBM POS systems in the past. Please see the TGCS website for more information.
