IO21174: POS KEYBOARD DOES NOT WORK ON 4694-246/V6R3 TERMINAL

  • Problem title
    4694 keyboard not recognized
    .
    Problem description
    Upgrade from v6r2-0bh1 to v6r3-0dc0. Registers loaded as part of
    ASM.
    Register comes completely up, keyboard display shows closed. No
    keys
    work. Unable to do S1, or sign on .
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  •  The Chip that collects info from RS485 devices
    is taking a little more to reset,
    As consequence the Terminal boot code is
    getting an incomplete list of devices
    attached causing problems with keyboard and
    other devices attached via RS485
    in old terminal models using Legacy Terminal
    Configuration
    

Problem conclusion

  •  Sync the request of info with the chip reset
    to collect the right info after the
    Chip is reset and it has all the info
    regarding RS485 devices
