Which device platform are supported by DB2 Everyplace v9.1?
 
Answer

DB2 Everyplace supports the following platforms:

Windows CE

  • Windows CE v3, Windows CE v4, Windows CE v5.
    Microsoft PocketPC, PocketPC 2000, PocketPC 2002, Handheld PC 2000 for MIPS, x86 and ARM architectures.
  • Windows Mobile 5.0 for PocketPC, Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC, Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition for Pocket PC, Windows CE .NET for ARM, ARMv4T, x86, XSCALE, MIPS architectures.
  • Windows Mobile 6.0 for PocketPC, Windows Mobile 6.0 for Smartphone for ARM and XSCALE architectures.
  • Windows Mobile 6.1 for PocketPC, Windows Mobile 6.1 for Smartphone for ARM and XSCALE architectures.

Windows
  • Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista, Windows XP Professional.

Symbian
  • Symbian OS V7s, Symbian OS V7 for x86 and ARM architectures.

Palm OS
  • Palm OS 4.1 for Dragonball, 5.0, 5.2.1and 5.4 for ARM/XSCALE architectures

Embedded Linux, Linux
  • Linux and embedded Linux kernel 2.4, or later, for x86 and STRONGARM/XSCALE architectures.

QNX
  • Neutrino 6.2, for x86 and STRONGARM/XSCALE architecture

The devices listed below were tested with DB2 Everyplace 9.1. Later versions of these devices may work but have not been officially tested. See Device Considerations and Limitations at the end of this technote.

QNX/Neutrino based devices: Neutrino based board or embedded system

Device considerations and limitations
  • Due to the unique design of each mobile platform, not all mobile devices can support all of the functions that are offered by DB2 Everyplace.
  • IBM cannot guarantee that all mobile devices will work correctly due to differences in manufacturing, configuration and preloaded mobile device software.
  • The availability of devices and the level of device support can change over time based on the actions of the manufacturer of the mobile device.
