Abstract
APAR OA38937 - PTF UA64407 PARMGEN Maintenance
GLB # 1 may point to ip.pipe:*.1918 and ITM Agents may lose the connection with the TEMS with a random pattern.
Content
There are no error messages found in the RKLVLOG. Any expected KxxSSITE messages will not be found in the log, when the KxxSSITE has an asterisk "*" instead of the pound sign "#" to denote comments in the RKANPARU member name.
If you are using PARMGEN, you will need to apply this maintenance As Soon As Possible (ASAP).
Without the applied PTF, PARMGEN generates comments in RKANPARU(KxxSSITE)
which result in either KxxSSITE errors in RKLVLOG (benevolent as they are ignored)
or GLB entry #1 as something like ip.pipe:*.1918 which causes frequent loss of connectivity
as each new thread tries to connect to a hostname of * which is not valid.
The PTF maintenance causes PARMGEN to use # rather than * for comments.
The circumvention until this maintenance is applied is to manually remove
the comment lines from RKANPARU(KxxSSITE).
An example of a KDSSITE member with an asterisk in column 1:
