Whitepaper (Pirean Ltd) - Business Service Management
Business Service Management (BSM) is a term to describe the composite IT service that monitors, tracks and manages the availability of services in a Business Service context. A Business Service, such as “e-commerce”, is aligned to a business unit or line of business. Rather than representing IT services as a disparate set of IT components, BSM presents technology components as enablers to the Business Service as a whole.
With Business Service Management, the value of IT can be communicated to line-of-business executives to enable them to know exactly how well their business function performs from the IT perspective and the value being delivered to the business by the underlying services.
