APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Need to create indexes based on the UPPER column function to
improve dashboard retrieval performance for modeled KPIs based
on a case insensitive string metric data filter.

Local fix

  • For each column in the monitoring context table (MCT_*) in the
Monitor database schema that corresponds to a metric that is
used in a case insensitive KPI filter, manually create an
index based on the UPPER column function.

Problem summary

  • This problem exists in WebSphere Business Monitor development
toolkit Version 6.2 and Version 7.0, and in WebSphere
Integration Developer Version 7.0 (Monitor Model editor
feature), in generated monitor models (the generated schema
creation script for the monitor model).

Problem conclusion

  • For WebSphere Business Monitor development toolkit V6.2
customers, this problem will be resolved in WebSphere Business
Monitor development toolkit V6.2 Fix Pack 4 (6.2.0.4).

For WebSphere Business Monitor development toolkit V7.0
customers, this problem is resolved in WebSphere Business
Monitor development toolkit V7.0 Fix Pack 3 (7.0.0.3), available

For WebSphere Integration Developer V7.0 customers, this problem
is resolved in WebSphere Integration Developer V7.0 Fix Pack 3
(7.0.0.3), available at:

In all of these releases, during monitor model J2EE project
generation the fix identifies modeled KPIs with data filters
based on case insensitive string metrics and adds a statement to
the schema generation script for each of these metrics.
