**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This PTF provides bug fixes and updates * * to sample materials for z/VM 6.2 SSI * * toleration. * * * * Bug fix: Corrects an error in RESTART * * processing which caused the saved * * instance number of a job to be * * incremented. RESTART should no longer * * change the stored instance value. * * * * Extension: A new job template * * substitution variable, $$SUBMITTER$$, * * is now supported. This variable is * * replaced with the user id which issued * * a SUBMIT, RESTART or REVIEW command * * during job template processing. * * * * Behavior change: Diagnostic messages * * generated during the INCLUDE / EXCLUDE * * phase of job template processing are * * now returned to the virtual RDR of user * * which issued the SUBMIT, REVIEW or * * RESTART command as "jobname INCLERR", * * in addition to being reported as part * * of the MSGNOH responses issued during * * job template processing. * * * * Bug fix: When executing in an SSI * * cluster member, the minidisk extent * * information for IDENTITY users could * * sometimes be inconsistent with the * * minidisk being backed up. DUMPEDF, * * DUMPCKD and DUMPFDA have been updated * * to rely exclusively on CP DIAG 00E4 to * * extract extent information for * * minidisks being backed up. Prior to * * this change, DIAG 00E4 was used only in * * limited circumstances such as handling * * of DEVNO minidisk definitions. This * * change requires all worker service * * virtual machines (BKRWRKnn) to have an * * OPTION DEVMAINT statement added to * * their CP directory entry if the * * customer installation has not already * * done so. OPTION DEVMAINT was previously * * required only if an installation chose * * to use the RDEVVOL or RDEVICE operands * * of job template INCLUDE, EXCLUDE and * * SELECT statements. * * * * Behavior change: All service virtual * * machines (BKRBKUP, BKRCATLG and * * BKRWRKnn) now attempt to determine * * whether or not SSI clustering support * * is available, and will display the SSI * * configuration status if that * * information is available. This process * * relies on the CP QUERY DIAGNOSE command * * to determine whether or not DIAG 02CC * * is present on the system. CP directory * * entries for BKRCATLG and BKRWRKnn must * * be updated to add CP privilege class E * * in order to enable use of CP QUERY * * DIAGNOSE, and in order to invoke CP * * DIAG 02CC to obtain SSI configuration * * status information. New messages 9361 * * through 9367 have been added as part of * * this change. * * * * Bug fix: Spelling / text truncation * * errors in the following messages have * * been corrected: 9263, 9264, 9265, 9268, * * 9271, 9272, 9273, 9275, 9276, 9277 and * * 9279. * * * * Bug fix: The algorithm to generate the * * CMS FILENAME / FILETYPE used to store * * DISKPOOL backup data has been modified * * to accommodate sharing of DISKPOOL * * media among SSI cluster members. The * * SSI member slot number is now taken * * into consideration as part of the file * * id generation process. * * * * Installation Requirements: Please * * review the current Program Directory * * and PLANINFO information regarding * * updated size requirements for the * * following product installation * * minidisks (or SFS directories): * * * * 5697J06B 2D2 * * (VMSYS:5697J06B.BKUPMGR.DELTA) - * * Increased to 50 cylinders of 3390 DASD * * (9000 4K blocks) * * * * 5697J06B 491 * * (VMSYS:5697J06B.BKUPMGR.TESTRUNTIME) - * * Increased to 7 cylinders of 3390 DASD * * (1260 4K blocks) * * * * 5697J06B 591 * * (VMSYS:5697J06B.BKUPMGR.RUNTIME) - * * Increased to 7 cylinders of 3390 DASD * * (1260 4K blocks) * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * ****************************************************************
