Feature Pack for Web Services Specific Enablement Pack is not installed.

PK53084 resolves the following problem:

ERROR DESCRIPTION:
Install Scenario:
1) Install any feature pack (s)
2) Install Feature Pack for Web Services GA
3) Install Feature Pack for Web Services Fixpack using UpdateInstaller

UpdateInstaller reported prereq failure because it does not detect Feature Pack for Web Services specific enablement pack.

The problem occurred because Feature Pack for Web Services GA installation skipped the install of Feature Pack for Web Services specific enablement pack when the target system has other feature pack(s) installed.

PROBLEM SUMMARY

USERS AFFECTED:
IBM® WebSphere® Application Server users of the Feature Pack for Web Services and any other feature pack(s).

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Feature Pack for Web Services Specific Enablement Pack is not installed.

RECOMMENDATION:
None

Feature Pack for Web Services GA installation skipped the install of Feature Pack for Web Services specific enablement pack when the target system has other feature pack (s) installed. When applying a Web Services Fixpack using the Update Installer, the prerequisite check failed because it does not detect the Feature Pack for Web Services specific enablement pack.

Note: Some browsers may modify the fix file's extension when the file is downloaded. In particular, Internet Explorer will change the extension from .pak to .zip. The fix file will need to be renamed back to .pak after the file is downloaded.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
This APAR installs the Feature Pack for Web Services Specific Enablement Pack if it is not installed by Feature Pack for Web Services GA installation. This will ensure Feature Pack for Web Services installation is in the correct state.
