PM98489: WEBSPHERE SERVER STARTS OPEN FOR E-BUSINESS YET WMSG1623E WAS ISSUED BY MQ SERIES

Error description

Message WMSG1623E is an indication that an additional recycle
of the Application Server is needed due to detection that MQ
Series code has been updated.    Currently When this happens
the Application Server is not aware of the severity of the
error, finishes remaining initialization and puts out the
message WSVR0001I: Server {0} open for e-business.

JMSRegistration component should be
signalling a problem so that the correct WSVR0002I  (Server {0}
open for e-business, problems occurred during
startup) is displayed and not the WSVR0001I message

Local fix

Run the osgiCfgInit.sh commad  if you  install WMQ service
(which
is what WAS will do under the covers).

Components of the application server that encounter errors
during initialization should throw a ConfigurationWarning
exception to indicate the condition but allow the application
server to continue.  In this case the application server would
generate message "WSVR0002I: Server {0} open for e-business,
problems occurred during startup" instead of message WSVR0001I.
The JMSRegistration component failed to generate the
ConfigurationWarning exception when it encountered a problem
on initialization.

Problem conclusion

The JMSRegistration component was changed to generate a
ConfigurationWarning when it encountered a problem during
initialization and the WSVR0002I is now generated instead of
the WSVR0001I message in this event.

APAR PM98489 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs
7.0.0.33, 8.0.0.9 and 8.5.5.2 of WebSphere Application Server.
