    An expression in a JSP containing a pre-increment variable
    similar to the following example:
    <%= ++idx + "testing" %>
    will fail with the following exception:
    JSPG0091E: An error occurred at line: 123 in the file:
    /test.jsp
    JSPG0093E: Generated servlet error from file: /test.jsp

Problem conclusion

  • The JSP Container was modified to properly handle the
    pre-increment variable syntax.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.31, 8.0.0.8 and 8.5.5.2.

    Please note that since the End of Service (EOS) date for IBM
    WebSphere Application Server version 6.1 was in September
    2013, this fix will not be included in a V6.1 fix pack. An
    Interim Fix can be provided on top of fix pack 6.1.0.47 for
    users with the proper V6.1 support credentials.
