Error description

After an edit and apply of an httpd.conf file via the console,
pipe characters will appear garbled in the console display of
the httpd.conf as well as in the actual file.  The console is
using an incorrect codepage when saving an update of the file.

Local fix

Manually change the configuration on the HFS.

After editing the httpd.conf file via the console, some
characters are garbled. The administrative console is using an
incorrect codepage when saving an update of the file.

Problem conclusion

Change the codepage to 1047 for the httpd.conf file when it is
written.

APAR PM97090 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Pack
8.0.0.8, and 8.5.5.2 of WebSphere Application Server.

Sysrouted APAR PI05008 will provide the fix for this APAR in
WebSphere Application Server V7.0 Fix Pack 7.0.0.31.
