    The ras.lite code is accessing and modifying a HashSet on
    multiple threads with no synchronization
    (or use of a concurrent collection type).

Local fix

Problem summary

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An infinite loop may be encountered     *
    *                      when using trace in the thin client     *
    *                      in a multithreaded application.         *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The ras.lite component used an unsychronized HashSet to store
    state information.  If a multithreaded application is running
    in the thin client enviroment then the HashSet may be updated
    concurrently on multiple threads and the internal data
    structure of the HashSet may become corrupted causing an
    infinte loop.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The ras.lite component was modified to use concurrent versions
    of collection objects where necessary.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.33, 8.0.0.9 and 8.5.5.2.  Please refer to the
