Error description

  • At the end of renegotiation the process ends up triggering a
    read when one is not needed, which causes the request to
    appear as if it timed out

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A request times out while reading a     *
    *                      response after a handshake              *
    *                      renegotiation is triggered              *
    ****************************************************************

    ****************************************************************
    When a peer requests a handshake renegotiation the request
    can time out reading the response. This occurs because the
    response data is sent with the final handshake packet and
    instead of reading the data the SSL Channel ignores it.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The SSL Channel was modified to recognize there is data after
    the handshake renegotiation. A new custom property was added
    to enable this behavior:
    
    handleDataInLastHandshakePacket (true/false, default false)
    
    This custom property can be set on SSL Channel configuration
    panel found here:
    
    Application Servers > {Server Name} > Web Container Transport
    Chains > {Chain Name} > {SSL Channel Name} > Custom Properties
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.31, 8.0.0.8, and 8.5.5.2.  Please refer to the
