    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The WebSphere Application Server for z/OS controller region,
    when -Xcheck:jni set, fails to start with a JVMJNCK038E JNI
    error message. This is caused due to lack of synchronization
    on GetMethodID method.
    Example error message,
    "JVMJNCK038E JNI error in GetMethodID: Argument #2
    is not a valid object reference. It's type is: local reference
    in another thread.
    BBOO0035W TERMINATING THE CURRENT PROCESS, REASON=C9C21C50.
    BBOO0056E CONTEXT SERVICE 'XYZ' FAILED WITH RETURN CODE=301
    WEBSPHERE PROCESS XY1234 ENDED ABNORMALLY REASON=C9C21236"

Problem conclusion

  • Code was updated to synchronize the call to GetMethodId.

    APAR PM92361 is currently targeted for inclusion in
    WebSphere Application Server Fix Packs 7.0.0.31, 8.0.0.8, and
    8.5.5.2 of WebSphere Application Server.
