**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Afer a JDK update, newly created * * and newly edited servers fail to * * start on Z/OS. Mixed cell problems are * * seen on multiple operating systems. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Install a fix pack containing this APAR. * **************************************************************** Newly created servers and newly edited servers fail to start when Java 2 Security is enabled due to a configuration transformation failure on z/OS after an SDK update. Mixed version cell problems are seen on multiple platforms. These problems appear with the following IBM Software Development Kit (SDK) upgrades: 1> SDK 5 SR16 FP3 2> SDK 6 SR14 3> SDK 6.26 SR6 4> SDK 7 SR5 Problem 1: On z/OS with Java 2 Security enabled, newly created servers and newly edited servers fail to start after the SDK upgrade. Problem 2: On any operating system, a mixed version cell containing a WebSphere Application Server V6.0.2 node might experience node synchronization problems.
Problem conclusion
The transform code is corrected to prevent this condition. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 6.1.0.47, 7.0.0.31, 8.0.0.7 and 8.5.5.1. Temporary fix
For problem 1, there is no workaround. For problem 2, the circumventing fix is to add JVM property com.ibm.xtq.processor.overrideSecureProcessing=true to the deployment manager, save the configuration and restart the deployment manager.
