Error description

  • Customer configures a unique hostname:port value in the
    "Provide HTTP endpoint URL information" window and expects the
    value to be returned in the URL field (within the
    <soap:address> element) in the copy of the wsdl file returned
    to the client. This does not occur. The value is contained in
    the copy of the wsdl located on the server, but the
    hostname:port of the WebSphere node which responds to the
    request is populated in the url field in the copy of the wsdl
    file which is returned to the client.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When processing a wsdl handle request *
    *                      the JAX-RPC webservice engine           *
    * used default prefix, not customized *
    *                      prefix.                                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    For WebSphere Application Server webservice, users can
    configure a unique hostname and port prefix in the
    administrative console's "Provide HTTP endpoint URL
    information" task. Users can configure the
    com.ibm.ws.webservices.enableHTTPPrefix
    property first; then, when they visit <HTTP_endpoint>?wsdl
    in their browsers, the returned WSDL should contain the custom
    prefix in the soap:address location attribute.
    But JAX-RPC webservice does not support this function.

Problem conclusion

  • The JAX-RPC code was changed to accept customized prefix when
    com.ibm.ws.webservices.enableHTTPPrefix is configured as "true"

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.33, 8.0.0.9 and 8.5.5.2. Please refer to the
