Error description

  • A user doing the following steps:
    (1) Environment > WebSphere variables
    (2) Click "New"
    (3) Input an variable and its value.
        "protocol_http_backlog" and "15" in an example
    (4) Click "Apply"
    (5) Click "OK"
    
    The admin console will show this error:
    Error 500
    An error occurred while processing request:
     /ibm/console/variableSubstitutionEntryDetail.do
    Message: java.lang.NullPointerException

    (2) Click "New"
    (3) Input an variable and its value.

    (4) Click "OK"
    
    In this panel, you do not need to click Apply before OK

    mode when Apply was selected.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Set the panel to edit mode on Apply.
