Error description

  • During customer stress testing of WP 6.0.6 with WAS 7.0.0.25
they noticed that they could eventually create a blocked
condition during high volume concurrent logout actions where
processing supporting the logout could get backed up due to the
sequential processing nature of the supporting tasks.

This is not a hang condition.
APAR will increase amount of concurrent processing and reduce
    wait time.

    ****************************************************************
The invalidateAll method is provided in the IBM extension to
    the javax.servlet.http.HttpSession interface. When
invalidateAll is invoked, the invalidate sessions messages are
sent sequentially by the session manager.

Problem conclusion

  • Code changes were made to the Session Manager to send
invalidate sessions messages concurrently when invalidateAll
    is invoked.

APAR PM82750 is currently targeted for inclusion in WebSphere
Application Server Fix Packs 7.0.0.29, 8.0.0.7, and 8.5.5.0
    of WebSphere Application Server V8.5.
