Error description

  • When you are using a JAX-RPC web services application, you will
    see memory usage grow with WorkLoad Management (WLM) related
    classes such as RuleEtiquette. But the increasing instances of
    the WLM classes were created and allocated by Web Services
    engine code WSChannelManager.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    In a cluster environment, some Work Load Management classes
    are created and allocated by the Web Services engine through
    Java reflection. And in some rare circumstances, garbage
    collection does not work normally with objects created by
    reflection.

Problem conclusion

  • To avoid the memory growth issue caused by reflection, we
    replaced reflection API calls with a regular instantiation of
    the Work Load Management classes in the Web Service engine.
