PM72899: PLUG-IN CACHING DOES NOT RESPOND PROPERLY WHEN ENTITY HEADERS ARE USED

Closed as program error.

Error description

Request has "If-None-Match:" header. WebSphere Application
Server returned "200 OK" status code with ETag: header that
does not match the "If-None-Match:" header.

Plug-in changed the staus code from "200 OK" to "304".

Local fix

Disable ESI cache, the problem goes away.

The web server plugin does not support entity tags. When a
request is received with entity tags, plugin ignores the tag
and may provide the incorrect response because of this.

Problem conclusion

Plugin code has been corrected. If a request contains an
entity tag, it will be forwarded to the application server and
the response will be sent back without plugin interference.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.74 7.0.0.29 and 8.0.0.6, and 8.5.0.2.  Please
