    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A memory leak may occur when an EJB *
    * web services request fails with an *
    *                      exception.                              *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Install a fix pack that contains this *
    *                  APAR.                                       *
    ****************************************************************
    EJB objects may fail to be released when an exception occurs
    while processing a web services request. This may result in
    a large number of EJSDeployedSupport objects in the heap.

Problem conclusion

  • The exception flow bypassed the postInvoke() logic which
    releases the objects. This logic is now performed in a
    finally block.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 6.1.0.47, 7.0.0.27, 8.0.0.6 and 8.5.0.2.  Please
