PM70163: UNABLE TO INJECT <ENV-ENTRY> INTO INTERCEPTOR BY @RESOURCE ANNOTATION

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The interceptor injection logic is not fully processing the XML
configuration of the interceptor when there is only one
    interceptor defined for a bean.

Local fix

  • There is a workaround for this issue by adding a second
interceptor for the bean. The second interceptor does not need
to perform any injection, but should have at least an
    around-invoke method.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Injection of env-entry into EJB *
    * interceptor does not occur *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When an EJB is configured with only a single interceptor and
dependency injection is configured to inject an <env-entry>
value from the interceptor stanza in ejb-jar.xml, the
injection does not occur. A specific failure is not logged.
The applicaiton may fail attempting to access the field that
should have been injected or behave unexpectedly.

Problem conclusion

  • The interceptor injection logic is not fully processing the XML
configuration of the interceptor when there is only one
interceptor defined for a bean. This problem has been corrected.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
