Error description
The interceptor injection logic is not fully processing the XML configuration of the interceptor when there is only one interceptor defined for a bean.
Local fix
There is a workaround for this issue by adding a second interceptor for the bean. The second interceptor does not need to perform any injection, but should have at least an around-invoke method.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 with enterprise java beans * * (EJB) applications * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Injection of env-entry into EJB * * interceptor does not occur * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When an EJB is configured with only a single interceptor and dependency injection is configured to inject an <env-entry> value from the interceptor stanza in ejb-jar.xml, the injection does not occur. A specific failure is not logged. The applicaiton may fail attempting to access the field that should have been injected or behave unexpectedly.
Problem conclusion
The interceptor injection logic is not fully processing the XML configuration of the interceptor when there is only one interceptor defined for a bean. This problem has been corrected. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.27.
