In a particular RACF environment, the Resource Manager token
associated with RRS will be deleted at server shutdown,
provided that there are no RRS transactions to recover. As
such, when the server is restarted, a new RM token will be
generated for the server, and the recovery epoch will be reset
to 1. However, there is no check made during server shutdown
that all XA resources have been recovered successfully -
deleting the Resource Manager token with XA resources still
undergoing recovery can potentially result in XA resources
being unrecovered at the next server startup.

Problem conclusion

  • Only allow the deletion of the Resource Manager token in the
particular RACF environment if there are no RRS transactions
to recover and all XA resources have been recovered.
