Error description

  • Failure occurs trying to renew a personal certificate that
    is signed by a chained signer in the DmgrDefaultRootStore
    from panel:
    SSL certificate and key management > Key stores and certificates
    > myKeystore > Personal certificates
    
    "An error occurred renewing default: java.lang.Exception:
    CWPKI0705E:
    The root certificate, which is used to sign the certificate with
    the
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx serial number, cannot be found in the
    DmgrDefaultRootStore keystore."

    The WebSphere Application Server code does not anticipate a
    chained signer certificate in the root-store. If a personal
    certificate is signed by a signer certificate that is actually
    a chain of certificates, even though it actually exists in the
    root-store keystore, the Application Server code fails to find
    it.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The Application Server code is changed to use the entire
    signer chain of a personal certificate to search for a
    matching signer in the root-store.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 7.0.0.27, 8.0.0.5 and 8.5.0.2.  Please refer to the
