Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server users of *
    *                  WS-Security enabled JAX-WS applications     *
    * and SAML Holder of Key *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WS-Security cannot consume a SAML       *
    * Holder of Key token with a key that *
    *                      is not encrypted                        *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Install a fix pack that includes this *
    *                  APAR.                                       *
    ****************************************************************
    If WS-Security SAML token consumer receives a SAML Holder of
    Key token with a key that is not encrypted, an error similar
    to the following will occur:
    CWWSS6001E: Key object was not obtained

Problem conclusion

  • The WS-Security SAML token consumer is updated to accept a
    SAML Holder of Key token that contains an unencrypted key.

    By default, an unencrypted key will be accepted by the
    runtime. If you do not want the runtime to accept an
    unencrypted key, set the following custom property in the SAML
    callback handler:

    allowUnencKeyInHok=false

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 7.0.0.25, 8.0.0.5, and 8.5.0.1. Please refer to the
