Error description

  • When provisioning is enabled, a NullPointerException error may
    occur at application startup, and you may see an exception
    with the following stack trace:

    the issue.

    NullPointerException error may occur at JAX-WS application
    startup when provisioning is enabled. The NullPointerException
    occurs because JAX-RPC service is not available.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The Web services runtime was updated to avoid unnecessary
    dependency on JAX-RPC service.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.43, 8.0.0.5 and 8.5.0.1.  Please refer to the

Temporary fix

  • Disabling the "Start components as needed" is the workaround for
    the issue.
