    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    On server start up SystemErr.log file is renamed if it is not
    empty and does not contain a WebSphere Application Server log
    header. This logic is independent of the time and space
    retention policy you specify in the configuration for system
    error stream. This creates a problem if you are attempting to
    disable rollover of this log file altogether.

Problem conclusion

  • Start up logic is adjusted to avoid renaming of this log file
    on server start up unless the
    "com.ibm.websphere.logging.errheading" system property is set
    to value "none".
