Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When third party ORB client is used, * * a remote ORB request might be * * rejected with * * org.omg.CORBA.INV_OBJREF error. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Since the client is not an IBM ORB client, there is not an IBM unique user object instead there is a 3rd party unique user object in an incoming ORB request. The original code was written under the assmption that incoming ORB requests always have IBM unique user object, therefore if a third party ORB client is used, org.omg.CORBA.INV_OBJREF exception is thrown by the ORB code.
Problem conclusion
With this fix, prior to acccess a user object, the code validates whether it is IBM user object to avoid the exception. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.25 and 8.0.0.4.
