    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ClassCastException thrown when *
    * attempting to read a servlet request *
    * with servlet caching enabled *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When servlet caching is enabled the following
    ClasscastException will be seen in FFDC:
    com.ibm.ws.cache.servlet.CacheProxyRequest incompatible with
    com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.srt.SRTServletRequest

Problem conclusion

  • When servlet caching is enabled, requests are wrapped in
    CacheProxyRequests. These need to be unwrapped to obtain the
    original SRTServletRequest.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.4. Please refer to the Recommended
