Error description

  • AdminTask validateConfigProperties fails with
    "Error=ADMG0012E: The attribute value for attribute
    value is not valid" exception, if the resource contains
    parenthesis {} in the name or value field in any config xml
    file.

    Sample snippet from resources.xml file with {}

    <resourceProperties xmi:id="J2EEResourceProperty_1292456709982"
    name="{com.ibm.ws.sibx.scmp.connectivityprovider}SibxConnectivit
    yProviderServer.version" value="7.0.0.0" />

Local fix

  • modify the resource value with out the {} or remove the
    problematic resource from the extracted properties file.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If a property file has a J2EEResourceProperty whose value
    contains {}, AdminTask validateConfigProperties command fails
    with "Error=ADMG0012E: The attribute value for attribute value
    is not valid". The same problem exists for an AdminTask
    applyConfigProperties command as well.

Problem conclusion

  • Implemented the correct parser logic that handles the
    J2EEResourceProperty value containing {} correctly.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 7.0.0.25 and 8.0.0.4. Please refer to the Recommended
