APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
Enable Web Service Support -> false will disable the support within the proxy. The proxy will invoke some web services code to parse the soap message which can then be used to make routing decisions. The DMZ proxy does not include the necessary web wervices jars for this. With this function disabled the proxy will still route the requests to the backend servers based on the normal host and URI mappings.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: DMZ Secure Proxy Server for IBM * * WebSphere Application Server users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The DMZ Proxy can not handle web * * services requests, but this behavior * * is enabled by default. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If a web services request, such as a SOAP request, is handled by a DMZ Proxy server, the default DMZ Proxy configuration will attempt to process the service request. However, DMZ Proxy does not include classes necessary to properly handle the request, and an error will occur. This problem will occur using the default settings, but can be avoided if web services support is explicitly disabled in the DMZ Proxy server configuration.
Problem conclusion
The problem was fixed by performing checks to detect whether a Proxy server is a DMZ Proxy when the server starts. If it is a DMZ Proxy, web services support will not be enabled, regardless of the configuration. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.25 and 8.0.0.4.
