    Transaction.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED:  IBM WebSphere Application Server Version 7  *
    *                  and 8 users of database session             *
    *                  persistence.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If there is a new global transaction    *
    *                      created when there is already an        *
    *                      existing local transaction, the         *
    *                      session manager can not handle both     *
    *                      transactions and will report the        *
    *                      following error SESN0182E: Unable to    *
    *                      start Local Transaction.                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The WebSphere Application Server session manager is unable to
    process a global transaction and a local transaction in the
    same request
    

Problem conclusion

  • When using database session persistence, the WebSphere
    Application Server session manager will ensure both the global
    transaction and the local transaction are processed
    correctly.
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.4.  Please refer to the
