Class changes for objects stored within a WebSphere Extreme
Scale dynacache grid can result in deserialization exceptions
if the entries are not cleared from the grid prior to
attempting to retrieve and deserialize them.

*                      an application modifies the class of    *

*                      object in the grid and the object is    *
*                      retrieved.                              *

Objects stored in the grid are serialized.  When they are
retrieved they must be deserialized.  If an application
changes the class of an object in the grid the class will not
be in the classpath when the object is retrieved from the grid
and deserialized and a deserialization exception occurs.

Problem conclusion

This APAR is introducing a new JVM custom property,
com.ibm.ws.cache.CacheConfig.ignoreCacheableCommandDeserializati
onException.  If this property is defined and set to true, a
deserialization exception will be ignored and a null will be
return for the cached object.

To set the JVM custom property:

From the administrative console: Click Servers > Application
Servers > server > Java and Process Management > Process
Definition > Java Virtual Machine > Custom Properties.
Create a new custom property, if required, by clicking New,
then add
com.ibm.ws.cache.CacheConfig.ignoreCacheableCommandDeserializati
onException in the name field and true in the value

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.45, 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.4.  Please refer to the
