Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    * Server who update applications using *
    *                  wsadmin.                                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Updating an application using wsadmin *
    * may cause an error message to *
    *                      be displayed in SystemOut.log.          *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: The error messages can be safely ignored. *
    ****************************************************************
    After deleting a module from a deployed application,
    subsequent changes to that application may display the
    following error:
    org.eclipse.
    jst.j2ee.commonarchivecore.internal.strategy.DirectoryLoadStrate
    gyImpl
    collectFilesFromBinaries Failed to extract binaries to
    temporary
    location:
    Binaries files were not added!
    The error message is the result of the deleted module not
    having been marked as deleted. This causes an exception,
    which is caught and displayed. Processing continues
    correctly following the exception, and the application is
    updated successfully.
    The error message and the exception can be ignored.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been updated to avoid the condition that caused
    the exception.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.25, 8.0.0.4, and 8.5.0.1. Please refer to the
