Error description

  • Exact steps to reproduce the reported problem:
    
    1. Login to WAS 7.0 administrative console as
    Administrator/Configurator user.
    2. Navigate to Resources -> JMS -> Queue Connection Factories ->
    a MQ
    QCF -> Advanced Properties -> Message format ->
    Coded characted set identifier
    3. Set Message format -> Coded characted set identifier ->
    "other,
    please specify" and set a value in the entry field and save the
    configuration.
    4. Logoff from the admin console and login as a user in Monitor
    role.
    5. Navigate to: Resources -> JMS -> Queue Connection Factories
    -> a MQ
    QCF -> Advanced Properties -> Message format ->
    Coded characted set identifier. The value for Coded characted
    set
    identifier is not displayed.

    *                      in the role of 'Monitor' is not able    *
    *                      to view a specific value for the        *
    *                      CCSID on an MQ connection factory       *
    *                      advanced properties panel.              *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If a non default CCSID value has been set for a MQ Connection
    Factory then this value is not viewable for a adminstrative
    console user that has the 'Monitor' role. The property appears
    blank to the users with this role.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR fixes the problem and allows 'Monitor' role users
    the ability to view the CCSID property on an MQ connection
    factory.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.3.  Please refer to the Recommended
    Updates page for delivery information:
