APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
This issue is occurred in a WebSphere Virtual Enterprise environment. For WebSphere Virtual Enterprise users, they can check the application status from the administrative console. When users installed ACTIVE and INACTIVE editions of applications and if you view them thru EditionControlCenter(feature of WebSphere Virtual Enterprise) or from the Administrative Console > "Application" > "All application" will display correctly. (ACTIVE editions are displayed as Started, and INACTIVE editions are as Stopped). But if you view them via Administrative Console > "Application servers" > (server_name) > "Installed application" does not display correctly. It will display all applications either Started(ACTIVE) or Stopped(INACTIVE). Administrative console should return the status of the enabled edition for all of the editions. But if at least one edition enabled, all editions of the application displays as started.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server and WebSphere Virtual Enterprise * * managing applications from a server. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: All editions of an application * * display as started or stopped. Only * * the active edition should display * * started or stopped. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** All editions of an application begin with the name, and the console code was not parsing the application name correctly when it was an edition. It would display the status of all editions of an application as the status of the active editions.
Problem conclusion
The console code was changed to parse editioned applications correctly so that the status for non-active editions would be unavailable. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.21 and 8.0.0.2.
