APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
In proxy the max HTTP error code that it could handle is hard-coded and must be less than 505. This could cause error conditions if proxy filters set error codes greater than 505.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 and V8.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Proxy could not serve a custom error * * page locally if the error code is * * greater than 505. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Internally the max error code that proxy could handle is 505 and this blocks proxy from handling any error code greater than 505.
Problem conclusion
The proxy internal max error code is now set to 599. This will allow you to use any number between 505 and 599 as your custom error code. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.21 and 8.0.0.2.
