Error description

Rational Application Developer (RAD) always generates
deployment.xml at META-INF\ibmconfig\...
and this is different when it is deployed on a WebSphere
Application Server system with WebSphere Virtual Enterprise.
Application Server uses a different META-INF\ibmconfig\...
location in the deployment.xml file.

Yes the ear can be deployed in pure WebSphere Application
Server environment but not with WebSphere Virtual Enterprise
installed on WebSphere Application Server due to
deployment.xml at root it exercises a different code path.

Problem conclusion

The problem has been corrected.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.41, 7.0.0.21, and 8.0.0.2..  Please refer to
