Error description

  • There is currently no support for encoding passwords
in properties file based config (PFBC) when adding a keystore.

It only works when using a clear text password. Customer
tried passing in the ?="{xor}? string from an prior extract
    and it failed.

    ****************************************************************
There is currently no support for encoding passwords in the
properties file based config (PFBC) when adding a new keystore
through the properties file. It only works when using a clear
text password. It fails if you pass in "{xor}password" string
from an prior extract properties file.

Problem conclusion

  • The APAR has added support for encoded passwords in the
properties file based configuration (PFBC). The properties
file based configuration will check the attribute name in the
properties file and decode the password value if the
attribute name contains a "password", "pwd" or "passwd"
keyword and the attribute value is encoded.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 7.0.0.21 and 8.0.0.2. Please refer to the
