Error description

Annotations processing, for example, which occurs when
deploying a napplication, can generate excess annotation
processing warnings in cases where there is no actual problem.

*                      DependencyUtil.                         *

When the IBM WebSphere Application Server Feature
Pack for Communications Enabled Applications is not
installed, annotations processing will incorrectly display a
"not defined" warning from class DependencyUtil.

For example, the following warning is displayed:

[3/24/11 16:10:56:011 IST] 00000024 annotations W DependencyUtil
processNode merge action group.siplet.annotations is not
defined and is declared as a dependency of another merge
action; ignoring

Annotations processing can occur during application deployment
operations and during application startup.

The warning should not be displayed, as the merge action is not
expected to be present when the IBM WebSphere
Application Server Feature Pack for Communications Enabled
Applications is not installed.

Problem conclusion

Annotation processing was updated to only display the "not
defined" message when annotation processing trace is enabled.
Annotation processing trace is enabled using the trace
specification "com.ibm.config.annotations=FINER".

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.19.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
