Error description

After creating a new DB2 Datasource, WAS automatically defined a
custom property called:
propagateClientIdentityUsingTrustedContext

As a result, at startup WAS issued the following warning:

IDENTITY_PROPAGATION_PROP_WARNING=DSRA7029W: The
propagateClientIdentityUsingTrustedContext custom property for
the Datasource is no longer used, value will be ignored.

Local fix

Remove the propagateClientIdentityUsingTrustedContext custom
property for the DB2 data source.

The property propagateClientIdentityUsingTrustedContext is in
the template for the older DB2 Universal DataSource, but it is
set to a value of "false".  It was added in version 6.1 as a
convenience for customers so they didn't have to add the
property and possibly misspell it.  It remains in the template
to cover the case of mixed-cell topologies which include version
6.1. In version 7.0 and 8.0, if customers are creating the
newer "DB2 Using IBM JCC Driver" Datasources the property
should not be present. However the property stil exists for
the "DB2 Using IBM JCC Driver" datasource. Hence using this
APAR to remove the property from the template for "DB2 Using
IBM JCC Driver" datasources.

Problem conclusion

The template xml file was updated to remove the property
propagateClientIdentityUsingTrustedContext.

APAR PM40596 is currently targeted for inclusion in
Service Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.21 of WebSphere Application
Server V7.0 and Fix Pack 8.0.0.1 of WebSphere Application
Server V8.0.
