  runtime which casts a java.lang.String to a byte[]. As a
  result, the Unmarshaller may throw a RuntimeException since

Problem conclusion

• The issue was corrected by changing the IBM JAXB Unmarshaller
  so that it no longer attempts to generate code which ilegally
  casts a java.lang.String to a byte[].
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 7.0.0.19.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates

  Note that this problem does not exist in V8.0 and higher.
