APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Users are unable to access the WLM data files of z/OSMF
    
    The problem is that the users id is being used to access the
    files. The expectation is that the servid would be used based on
    the sychToOSThread setting.
    

Local fix

  • To workaround the problem, use one of the following options:
    1. Set the user uid to 0 so they have full permissions
    2. Set the WLM file permissions to 775
    3. Connect the user to the group that owns the files

    *                      with a 404 status.                      *

    When a z/OS application server is configured with the
    syncToOSThread setting enabled and the deployed application is
    secure, a user who logs in and requests the context root is
    receiving a 404 FileNotFound exception.  It is because the
    server's resources are not accessed correctly under the user id.
    
    If the welcome file resource is explicitly included in the
    request, a good response is returned.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The WebContainer code was modified to access the resource
    correctly after the user logs in.
    
    APAR PM36303 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
    Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.19 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
