Error description
Description: For users defined in Local OS registry, VMM returns principal name in format machineid\userid. In order to resolve this problem (apart from the code changes) customer needs to define a custom property "com.ibm.websphere.registry.UseRegistry" in URBridge and set its value to either "local" or "domain" (both of them are case insensitive) .
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: For users defined in Local OS * * registry, VMM returns principal name * * in format "machineid\userid" * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Whenver a user defined in Local OS registry logged into WebSphere Application Server, VMM returned principal name of the user in the format "machineid\userid". This happened because VMM was making a different call to set the principal name.
Problem conclusion
To fix this issue, a custom property "com.ibm.websphere.registry.UseRegistry" needs to be added while configuring Local OS registry in VMM, The value of the custom property is set to either "local" or "domain" (both of them are case insensitive). Once this property is set, the machineid information will be removed from the principal name. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 6.1.0.41, 7.0.0.19, and 8.0.0.1.
